45th edition launch

Geneva, June 14, 2023. Jerry Maspoli, President of the Race de l’Escalade Organizing Committee, presents the race program and the association behind it, and unveils the new poster and wine blends created especially for the jubilee edition on December 2-3, 2023.

After a 44th edition marked by a return to normality in terms of events, entertainment and numbers of participants, the Course de l’Escalade is preparing to welcome almost 50,000 running and walking enthusiasts for a jubilee edition.

The long-awaited Course du Duc, which has been held every 5 editions since 2002, makes its grand return this year. Starting in Reignier (FR), the 20km event will be a real challenge for night runners. For logistical reasons, this race will be limited to 7,000 registrants, which corresponds to the number of participants in 2017.

Exem presents his poster to Les Mille et Une références

The return of the Course du Duc also heralds the return of artist Exem. The poster he has designed for this year’s event reflects the codes of his world and his overflowing imagination. He unveils his work, which offers multiple winks and references, notably to the tales of the Thousand and One Nights. The poster and detailed explanations from its author can be found at this link.

A special “Course de l’Escalade” cuvée

As part of this year’s event, Les Artisanes du Vin de Genève have co-produced two new blends, which will be available for exclusive tasting at the event site on December 2 and 3. The four Geneva-based members of the collective, Sarah Meylan-Favre (Domaine de la Vigne Blanche – Cologny), Emilienne Hutin-Zumbach (Domaine les Hutins – Dardagny), Céline Dugerdil (Domaine de la Printanière – Avully) and Sophie Dugerdil (Domaine Dugerdil – Dardagny), are helping to promote the image and place of women in the world of wine.

Swiss Winter Aid Geneva Committee in the spotlight

This year, the Organizing Committee decided to lend its support to Secours suisse d’hiver Comité genevois, which since 1936 has been committed to helping people temporarily affected by hardship, preventing them from falling into debt and helping them return to a life without financial worries. Throughout the year, the association raises funds to help people in precarious situations in Geneva. For this 45th edition, the Course de l’Escalade will be launching an appeal for donations in conjunction with registration.
