Geneva, Saturday, September 2 – Since 2021, in collaboration with the canton’s communes, the Course de l’Escalade has been offering signposted courses with the aim of providing the population with more running training options. To date, 6 communes have joined the project, enabling 12 courses to be created. In 2022, the commune of Plan-les-Ouates has joined the project and is now offering 2 new routes. The official inauguration, attended by the local authorities and Jerry Maspoli, President of the Course de l’Escalade, took place on Saturday September 2 at the Mairie de Plan-les-Ouates.
What better time than the start of the new school year to set new goals, get back into shape after the summer and prepare for the next Course de l’Escalade?
The courses offered by Plan-les-Ouates provide just such an opportunity, with two distances to choose from.
With a surface area of 588 hectares, the commune of Plan-les-Ouates is known for its businesses and market gardening. The 2 loops set up by the commune allow you to escape through fields and houses. The shorter loop is 1.4km long. For the more experienced, it’s possible to extend your training to 2.6km. Click here to view the routes.
”Fabienne Monbaron, Plan-les-Ouates Mayor, in charge of sports.
Jerry Maspoli is delighted with this new partnership, and looks forward to the enthusiasm the new courses will generate. He points out that they are marked with easily recognizable arrows. The training courses are now available on the new STRAVA profile for the Course de l’Escalade, accessible here.
